Disposable camera app or QR code gallery for your wedding?
Disposable camera apps turn each guest’s phone into a little film camera: a set number of shots, a film look, and photos that can stay hidden until the next morning. A QR code gallery does something simpler: it collects the photos and videos guests take anyway. Both start with a QR code on the table, so here’s how they differ and how to pick.
A note before you read: we make Some Days Stay, a QR code gallery, so we’re one side of this comparison. The facts about POV and Lense come from their own pricing and help pages, linked below, as they were on October 29, 2026.
The short answer
Choose a disposable camera app if you want the game: limited shots, a film look and a reveal the morning after. Choose a QR code gallery if you want everything: every photo and video, the speeches, the dance floor, in full quality and as soon as it’s taken. If you can only pick one code for the tables, the gallery is the safer choice, because it doesn’t ration anyone’s photos.
How a disposable camera app works
The couple sets up the event in the app and puts its QR code on the tables. Guests scan it and get a camera on their phone. On POV, iPhone guests use an App Clip and Android guests a web version, so nobody installs from the app store; on Lense, guests enter their name and start shooting without an app or account.
Each guest gets a set number of shots. On POV the couple chooses the number; Lense gives everyone 25 unless you pay $9.99 to remove the limit. You also choose when the photos are revealed: straight away, later, or only to you. Both let guests add photos from their camera roll too.
They’re priced by the number of guests: on both POV and Lense, $4.99 for up to 25 guests and $34.99 for up to 100, with more for bigger weddings. Video is limited: Lense sells 1-minute clips as a $9.99 add-on, and POV’s pages don’t mention video at all. See the POV and Lense pricing pages.
How a QR code gallery works
Guests scan the code and upload the photos and videos they’ve taken with their own camera app, at any point in the day or the week after. There’s no shot limit per guest, videos are usually included (at least on paid plans), and the couple sees everything as soon as it arrives, which is what makes a live slideshow at the reception possible. Most services keep the original files.

| Shots per guest | Limited (POV: set by the couple; Lense: 25 unless you pay for unlimited) | No per-guest limit; the plan has a total |

| Videos | Limited or an add-on | Usually included (Some Days Stay: every plan) |
| The look | A film-camera feel; Lense adds filters | Whatever the guest’s phone took |

Pick a disposable camera app if…
- you love the idea of a morning-after reveal, like picking up prints from the photo lab
- your guest list is small, so the per-guest price stays low
- you mostly want photos, not videos
Pick a QR code gallery if…
- you want the speeches, the first dance and the dance floor on video
- you don’t want anyone to run out of shots halfway through the night
- you’d like a live slideshow of guests’ photos at the reception
- you have a big guest list and would rather pay one price
Can you use both?
You can, but give guests one code per table. Two QR codes side by side make people stop and wonder which one to scan. If you love the disposable camera idea, put that code on the tables and share the gallery link in a thank-you message after the wedding, so the photos taken on people’s own cameras still find their way to you.
Collect every photo, not just the first 25
Some Days Stay gives you a private gallery and a QR code in a minute. Guests upload photos and videos from their phone’s browser in original quality, with no app and no account. Free for up to 30 photos and videos.
